<< Hey CalDS650, Tell us about those TCS shocks again. Do you sit a little lower than stock? I have the Works steelers which are easily converted to TCS. I think the TCS rebuild adding rezzies is about $500.
.....Now I know the stock (Arvin RydeFX) front shocks really suck, and the works shocks were a huge improvement, but I would like to see a little more "race sag", especially in the front, where I have resprung it anyway using the stock springs plus one of the works "helper" springs. It is softer and saggier than the works setup was, but I want more. Due to cost, about $500 to rebuild the works front shocks, I will probably do just that and wait on the rear shock rebuild. What do you think? I haven't talked myself into this quite yet.

Hi fourlix sorry it took so long to get back to you but I had to test them out this weekend. The TCS I have are are set up for the desert and dunes and due not lower the DS650 any. They are great in the whops The faster I went the better they work.

Vegas 650?
Are you saying that you lost top-end power with the pipe and jet kit?
Or that the pipe added power and when the jet kit was installed
it took a .5HP off the top? Is that the DJ kit with no airbox and just the K&N bolted to the carb? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Joe

Here's the scoop on the CT. The bluing is on the whole header and pipe up to the canister. it is ugly. It is chrome or stainless, I don't know. IT IS NOT CERAMIC. As far as the performance. I gave Dynojet my DS with the pipe on and the airbox removed. I have the direct K&N attached to the carb. They made me bring the stock exhaust but not the airbox. First they took off the CT and put the stock pipe back on, with the K&N on. Then they made a jet kit for it and I assume they left that in when they re-tested with the CT on, cause they had to give me one as part of the deal for letting them use it. Yes, THEY said it lost a little on the top I assume with thier jet kit. CT claims it makes power over the whole band. I know I could FEEL the difference on the bottom but it was very hard to notice anything on the top.

What Dynojet told you goes along with what I have found about several exhausts I tested. Many of them showed good gains on the bottom and/or mid, but actually lost power from the stock exhaust on the top end. Some others gained up top, but gave up power in the mid to bottom area. I don't want to get into bashing, so please don't ask what exhausts did poorly. My recomendations, after my dyno testing, are the Custom X for a slip on or the Big Gun for a full system.
