Will this carb work with the 703 kit or would it be to small?

What size is it? I thought I had heard it was 40MM, is that correct? If so, I would have to say that it is too small to take advantage of a 703 motor. I tested a Mikuni 40MM and found that it sacrificed power across the board compaired to a 42MM.

Hi Knutz
It is a 40mm. Edelbrock use the 40mm on stock 88 too 104-inch size Harleys engine. They due make a 42mm but only use it on big 104 + inch size engines. They are kind of hard headed. You have to show them that there is a market and that the smaller size does not work. I have you piston and RW CDI and HD valve springs installed, I have my quit core in and it is too restrictive the engine will hardly start. Once I get you Cams I will go back to Edelbrock and see if the 42mm will work.

One key thing that people keep forgeting when they talk about carb size for this motor is,IT'S NOT A HARLEY! It's frustrating working with Edelbrock, Kehien, and Mikuni when they keep refering back to "well, this works on a 108" Harley". We are only running half as many cylinders as a Harley, so our carboration has to be different. I can almost hear what Edelbrock is going to say when you go back and aske them again if they will do it in a 42MM- "our 40MM flows as much as a Mikuni 42MM" I hate to say it, but I just don't think the Quicksilver is going to be the hot ticket for a 703.

LMFAO! I knew it. It's a standard line. They all say it. If you believe them, you would end up with a 1MM carb. Mikuni-our 35 flows as well as there 40MM. Kehien- our 30 flows as well as there 35MM. Edlbrock- our 25 flows as well as there 30MM. And so on, and so on, and so on! I love these advertizer based claims. If you have contact with them, ask them if they would be intrested in sending me 2 of there Quicksilvers, I'll test them independantly, and let every one know the results. If they make more power on my motors, I'll make them part of the kit instead of the Mikunis.

I wish the edlebrock would work, I love the lack of jetting, come on Edlebrock step up lets see what it will do on a 703 or 760
