I'm sure other owners of the MkI DS (1st make) would also like to know the answer to this question.

Apparently, some of you own, or have seen the new DS. All the new stuff takes a while to get here where I live.

I would like to know what changes have been made to the a-arms on the Baja?? The only info I can can find is from the photos; and all that the magazines say is that the new arms are "improved". If the new a-arms are better, can they be put on an original DS??

All responses are appreciated! Thanks.

It would be nice if they where. I dont know though. I'll check on monday, my dealer has one on the floor so he should have the parts list as well. It would be nice if they are cheaper than aftermarket ones. But if they are then will they be as good?

Here are the part # numbers and prices I got from Parker Yamaha
http://www.parkeryamaha.com
Part1: A-arms upper and lower both sides
> Part2: all Ball joints
> Part3: RH upper # 706-200-246 = 68.69
> Part4: LH upper # 706-200-252 = 68.69
> Part5: RH lower # 706-200-257 = 99.54
> Part6: LH lower # 706-200-264 = 101.02
> Part7: Ball joint x 4 # 703-500-082 = 135.10 each.
> Part8: Parts are back ordered

Sorry I couln't find those parts anywhere on the web site. Did you have to email them for prices? I'm assuming this means the a-arms are interchangable.

Also, are the ball joints 135.10 each??!! Or is that $135.10 for all four?

Thanks so much for the time and info!!

I bet they are interchangeable,
if they say they are not, this means there are two different frames (&ampor different spindles & that does not seem too
likely.
It would seem to be a good set-up to have the Baja lower A-arms & adjustable uppers(aftermarket) to acheive a an awesome front end set-up.

Timmy Boy lowers to go with the uppers I already have, plus a minus one inch swingarm. That could be verry nice.

Can I use the ball joints from my DS? Or are they unusable once removed?
I guess one thing I've never done on a quad is replace A-arms before. Is it more difficult than replacing rear axle bearings (which I have done)?

Thanks again for the responses!
