DG Quality ???????????????????????

Just bought a DG chassis skidplate for my DS and the hole in the plate that should be under the oil drain plug of the DS is way off. I could not beleive DG would have sent these out to market without testing them and then have the nerve to charge $110. I wonder how many of there other products are like this? And it is a defect, rockymountain atv confirmed this for me. I have e-mailed them several times concerning this problem and never heard back from them- O'yeah they never got any of my e-mails. Now to change the oil you have to take the skid plate off. Well i don't want to ramble, thanks DG-Defective Goods.

I have heard this on more than one occasion about DG. I will not buy any of their products because of the message boards and all the bad things I here. I have prm on my raptor and have been pretty pleased with their products.

This is very disappointing to here, but I am very glad you posted. In the future I will consider prm first. You would think DG would spend a little more money on quality control and less on marketing their junk?

I think it was Dirt Wheels that did a project quad with several DG products and I remember that they complained about stuff not fiting right, holes not lining up, etc, I think your right they spend the bulk of their budget on marketing

Bombardier is marketing a plastic lightweight chassis skid for about $45. I think I'm going to go with that and the Bombardier A-Arm guards ($50-ish.) This should be a lightweight lower cost option, seeing as I don't expect to need super-duper rock protection anyhow.

KaiserSosei,
I think it's safe to say everyone that frequents the Bombardier forum here will likely stay far away from DG. I think the rear skid I have is made by DG and marketed by White Bros. No wonder I had to modify the heck out of it to get it to barely fit extremely tight! I think for Aluminum parts I'm going to look at PRM, I haven't heard one bad thing from their products yet, and have seen dozens of glowing reviews. Depending on what some of the other guys floating around the forums make, those are good possibilities as well, Though I can never remember who is making what, or what they're in the process of making, or what person I was waiting for to make the product I wanted. I bought a pretty cool domain name and I'm thinking I was gonna setup some kinda deal so people like me who can't remember the phone numbers of dozens of small companies scattered across the US making parts for the DS can have a single place to go.

I just got DG nerfs today, and put them on immediately. They are very nice, I like them, but the right hand side was a little tough getting on.
I clamped and muscled and clamped it into place without redrilling anything, but it should have fit a little easier. Welds are very nice.

Mr.Fourlix, everthing else about the skidplate and a-arm plates i bought from DG was very great -fit, finish and looks, I guess that is why I am so disappointed. It is just hard to beleive they would have put this out without a final test. I am glad you were able to get your nerfs on,thanks for the help with the timmy boy uppers.-Kaiser

As long as we're DG bashing... Years ago I ordered a DG rear grab bar for my new atc 350x. It took months to get to me and I had to slot the holes to get it to fit. I also had to take it to a shop to weld on a tab to mount a flag to. The welds were good and it was sturdy but it was such a lousy experience I've stayed away from them ever since. Just my opinion but one I've seen repeated over and over. Must be a good business to be in, to do marginal job and last this long.
