What is the best way to straighten the stock ds rims? I went riding in the woods this weekend for the first time and enjoyed it a lot but the poor ds took a beatin. I had a few minor flat spots in the rims befor from landing big jumps but now I have huge dings in my rims. The first one was from landing a medium size down hill jump and landing the front tire on a huge rock and the second came from when I had to roll backwards down a hill and hit a very large boulder with the back tire. The front one still held air somehow but the back one leaked and by time I got the mile plus back threw the woods to the truck it was pretymuch flat. I took a hamer to it to get it back good enough to hold air and continued riding but is there a better way to do it or is a BFH the best way. They do not need to be perfect because I only want to get threw the rest of this fall and then put snow tires on them for winter. I will order new rims with reinforcing rings from OMF this winter for next year. Thanks for any info.

BF Lead H! Either that, or a really solid block of wood and a regular BFH.

Try a heavy piece of leather. I use an old welding glove folded over a few times and then smack the rim with a hammer. It doesn't take much of a hammer, the aluminum is pretty soft but with the leather cushion I haven't left a mark yet.

Hey Brandon~
I have gotten a few flat spots in my rims and a rubber mallet pounded them back to shape so the dent is not even noticeable. A 2 pound rubbler mallet did wonders since the rims are made of a quite soft aluminum material.

a dead blow hammer works wonders on these rims.
