Modded End Cap
#11
Roostin on you, I'm have been following this Forum for awhile.
You guys are really helpful. To answer your question: I took my endcap to the local sheetmetal shop and told them what i wanted. They made me a cap with a 2.5 inch spout. I left every thing as it was, and only had to make the gasket myself. It works great!! I ride regularly at Little Sahara, In Oklahoma. And I have yet to be beat by just a Slip-on. People Ask me what I've done to my bike, I guess they trouble
believing me when I explain that I have a stock ds with just a 25$
Endcap. Or maybe it just pisses them off to realize that they spent 400+ on their exhaust system.
P.S. I'm 6'3" 265lb. And this machine is the only one
for me!! I love it.

I bought a HMF slip-on for my DS and my son's Raptor and sent them both back 'cause they were too loud. They said they had a "Quiet Core" they were working on so I said I would try it on the Raptor. Well this is a great slip-on! It is barely louder than stock, fit and finish is excellent, and has a significant horsepower boost with no airbox mods and no rejetting. This is my son's Raptor and it was running a little rich anyway. I'm sure airbox mods would require some rejetting and net some more power, but this was really e a s y, and relatively cheap, about $189 with a spark arrestor, I think. I still haven't figured out how much credit I have with them but they said they could do it for the Bombardier DS too. So I may try this. My kid is blowing me away. I'm going to make an end cap for Steve, but if this HMF Quiet Core slip-on works for the DS I am going to can the end-cap idea.
