Anyone made any progress on a replacement tube or mod for the stock airbox?

I am using 4 hose clamps around the stock tub. I have pick up some more top end. I can now make it up Olds at Glamis in 4th gear.

I used large "zip" ties to strengthen the tube and they seem to work very well. I think I may try the hose clamps though.

Does anyone have plans for making a new tube or is the idea being scrapped? We may finish the research we started and fix this problem once and for all.

1BEARMAN, Yeah that's why I brought it up again! I think it would be a great performance upgrade and very marketable, in my opinion. I just like the idea of improving on an already great machine!

I hope someone is working on a fix. I think we have the "bandaids" down though. We need a permannent fix and one that flows more air.

I also have the hose clamps on the air hose. I think an after market hose would be a good idea. I think that some one should try some aluminum meterial. As well as plastic. The aluminum might cool the air charge going into the carberator a little. And the colder air is the more denser..!!!! Meaning air particals are more tightly packed..!!!! Therefore more air will go into a smaller space..!!!!! Meaning more power..!!!! Muuuhahahahaha... !!!!!!! Oh, sorry I got a little carried away. Muhaha. Come on guies somebody give me a product I can buy.
