Hey Bomb-ers! haha

A buddy with a sweet DS650 broke a front shock today. No Suprise, since he always goes WAY bigger than the rest of us. Does anyone want to sell 1 or 2 stock shocks? Would it be a good idea to only replace 1? Seems kinda questionable. Any recomendations for a bettter than OEM but maderately priced replacement? Lotta questions. Thanks.

Marky,

How much were you able to get for your stock front shocks? Selling the old ones could offset the cost of new ones, probably not a lot but every little bit helps.

Works Steelers , no rezzies, are only $369 for triple rates. You can add rezzies later as I did. After 6 different spring set-ups, I like the 210# mainsprings, 240# 2,8" helpers with 500# helpers. Adding rezzies yourself requires recharging the shocks with Nitrogen or Argon to 250 psi. That's easy to do if you have the rig. Most motorcycle shops can do it for you or Works will do a full service and install the rezzies for you for $60.

Fourlix,

Any idea what the steeler triples with rezzies cost pre assembled? I figure if I'm going to want rezzies I may as well get them from the start. Generally speaking, things are cheaper that way.

It is cheaper to get Works steelers with rezzies than to add them later. It's about $500 for triples with non-adjustable rezzies. That is the best deal in ATV shocks.
...... Compression adjustable add $159, Compression and rebound add about $300. As it was explained to me, the additional compression and rebound adjustments add dampening but do not subtract from the basic shock. So if you get your shock set right in the first place, and you can send it back for free, you don't need adjustable rezzies, which cost a bunch more. The rezzies remove the gas from the shock, making them more consistant and smoother than "emulsion" shocks and aid in cooling. The rezzies completely remove the gas charge from the shock leaving nothing but oil and mechanicals.
.....It is far more important to have the springs and basic dampening right for you and your riding style and conditions than a lot of expensive adjustments that you are not going to use.
