Hey Bat we will be there as well. Lets hook up and just ride. I'll have my Z-400 by then. I don't care who rides what. It's about the dunes, bowls and jumps. AHHHHHHH! Memorial day weekend is usually King of the hill so it's quite a spectacle.

Vegas, I tease my buddy and tell him the 400 is a girls bike. My wife rides a raptor and he just can't take it anymore. He really likes the DS after riding mine and is pretty much sold and trying to talk his wife into it.

Sandgod, I look forward to seeing you and meeting you. I hope you have the Z400 by then so we can check it out. I told my wife maybe we should trade in the raptor on one for her. I don't really care what people ride either. It is all about the fun and I enjoy visiting with people out at the dunes. I have seen some real jerks, but everyone I have ever talked to is really cool.

I am not sure where we will be camping out there, last time we camped at white sands, but it is like a 10 mile ride one way to sand mountain and pretty much uses all your fuel to make the run. I think I want to be closer to sand mountain this next time we camp. I am guessing maybe we will camp around the jericho area. I don't know yet.

I will try and see if I could make it to L.S. on Memeorial. Last year it was alot of fun here, but one thing about it I would really like to see some of the other really bad bikes that are out there that I wont see all the time out here. I am headed to Vegas the early part of March and am hoping to at least meet Knutz and talk to him about some goodies. Maybe if the cash flow is good I will be bringing some of them home. Bat...Let me know whenever you want to go riding, I am always game to go. I agree with you, I think some of the nicest, most considerate people that would do anything for anyone, I have met while riding. It seems someone breaks down it becomes a comunity effort to get them going so the fun can continue. I also saw a ton of people search an entire night for a girl that got lost last year on Memorial weekend. It was like all riding was off for all till she was found. Pretty cool

If I have my dates right I should be coming down March 7-11. I wont be bring my quad, I dont think anyways. We are coming down to watch the Mtn.West basketball tourny and do the whole Vegas thing. Of course if it was totaly me, my Vegas thing would be riding LOL. I havent even talked to Knutz so he's probably like, What the? I just hope he is going to be around. I will of course talk to him well before then. I just hope I can get a good bonus or something so I can bring home some goody's. That would be great to get to meet you as well Vegas. I want to see the SAND PIG. That is one way cool bike.

Glad to hear you like your baja bat. Was there any snow at L.S.? If not i'm heading over this weekend or next. I've heard you could ride them all year. I put my paddles on and rode the snow last weekend had a good time but not sand by a long shot, the DS does pretty good in the snow with paddles (at least 36 inches 8 inches of that was powder), had to stay where snowmobiles have packed it down or you were stuck. later

olddesertds, There was some snow, I did not get into much of it. It was pretty much sand, except on the back side of some of the dunes, where the sun really does not hit.

Sand mountain had a little snow in the shadows, but the most of it was just sand. It was a blast. I want to go again, if I lived down in utah, I would be there every other weekend, especially on the warmer days.

If you go have fun and enjoy it.

Bat

Bat make sure and let me know when you come up to st. anthony and i'll try and come up for at least a day, it's always good to ride with new people. We spend as many weekends as we can there and love to ride the dunes anywhere. When we lived in elko we would ride the winnumucca dunes alot in the winter. later

This past weekend was he first time I have taken my DS to the dunes and I was impressed with the whole quad. I used the stock Kendas in the front and Sand Sharks in the back. They tracked ok me but the front was light alot of the time. The best time of the day was when I hit a jump and the nose fell down. I thought that was it but the front suspension soaked it right up smooth. I guess it was in its element. Just my first experience at the dunes.

Demon, if you have the spare time and it fits my work schedule, maybe you can come out to my house and you can ride the pig out in the desert. I'll ride my wife's 465EX.
