I have had my DS for about 6 months and love it. K&N air, Ron Wood rev limiter, 17t front sprocket. I bought used and did not get the manuel. (saw the topic, online manual would be nice) I would like to know if anyone could tell me exactly how to move the axel inside the swingarm to loosen chain? I have backed the bolts off in the back but don't know how to do rest. Thank you to anyone who can help!

P.S. ScoobyDFW, very impressive, Also in plano. mail me if you can help.

Here ya go!:

chain adjust procedure,
1. loosen 2 rear most bolts on axle carrier
2. located round bar in tool pouch
3. slide bar through hole in rear sprocket and line up with carrier hole
4. with rider weight on vehicle, roll vehicle slightly forward or rearward to tighten or loosen chain to a slack of 7/8"
5. remove bar
6. tighten rear bolts to 21 ft lbs

Philips screwdriver that will fit into holes underneath . The tool in the intructions is just a straight round bar.

Do yourself a favor and leave a little extra slack to help save your chainroller.

I got my DS in April last year, I think. I have only adjusted the chain one time. These O-ring chains are amazing. I use spray chain wax regularly, but sometimes forget. My chainroller is fine. And the chain is not that loose, less than 2 inches up and down play. Considering the horsepower, dirt and use, it is truly amazing....

I can't seem to figure out what that "carrier hole" is and where it is??

How big is the hole, and where is it?? Is there more than one of these holes??

Sorry i'm a dumbass..

haha, dont say that... the hole is in the sproket look for the hole.. stick something in there screwdriver allen wrench etc. roll the quad ahead or back to find where the whole in the sproket and the whole in the carrier line up, and your set.

Okay, i found the holes.

so there's 2 holes in the sprocket, and 2 holes on the carrier??

Holes are about 1/4" in size??

If that's it, I get it, gonna wait till my dad gets home so we can set up the suspension and chain tension.

Also I don't have a torque wrench at the moment, are those 2 rear bolts torque sensitive, or they just need to be good and snug??

theres just 1 hole of each, when they meet up you can stick something in there, and you roll it ahead and it adj. your chain depending on what way you move the bike.
