Hi everyone,
I'm about to install Big Gun's Complete Race system, there is a "quiet" version of the same. Will I lose something on the low end using the race pipe? Is there a difference in the performance of the two? Thx again everyone, Rich A

Puttnut- from what i have seen on the big gun, i would not install and send back. Rivets rattle at the back of the muffler. BG said tuff luck on Rooster's ds. I have extensive runs against ds's and the modded end cap does well. I have seen others complain of rivets on this forum also. The pipe looks nice though. My thoughts only. Bear in mind that my wife and kid do not listen to me either. LOL happy riding.

I've had a Big Gun on my personal bike for some time now, and have had no problems since this generation. Many months back, there were quality and fit issues, but those have long since been resolved. I rivet coming loose[or even a few of them] can happen in aluminum, it's impossible to avoid 100% of the time. I'm sure it happens in other exhausts as well, since I've seen it. It would be simple enough to fix by simply installing larger rivets, but to expect a refund for this might be expecting alot. If I were your friend, I would have him calmly talkn to his dealer and see if he would help with getting it riveted. As a dealer, if one of my customers had this problem, I would re-rivet it for them provided they covered the shipping.

I will stear you away from the quiet series though. The performance loss with this system is proving substantial enough that Big Gun is currently re-designing the quiet series for the larger displacement bikes.

Hey knutz, I wonder if you could sell the cdi with the connector, so that all we would have to do is remove the metal tabs from the factory connector and pop them into the correct connector.

It is just a thought. I tried to email you, but it did not go through. I want to order a cdi, but I want to be able to get the connector so that I can put it on. I live in a small town and am not sure if I could find the correct connector here.

I also want to order the carb mount filter, but I was waiting to order both. If you have a connector that will plug into your cdi and you could sell me one, I will order it now. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks
Bat

knutz- he did not want a refund, he wanted it fixed. 500 bones it should last more than a couple of months. A little help from a manufacter goes further than telling you tough luck. That is one use of these forums. the good bad and ugly. I know some people want stuff for nothing and make up all kinds of stories. I still believe the good people out number the bad. What is a few dollars of good will worth? There should be enough profit in that system to pay the shipping.

I know first hand that there was nothing unusual done to Roostin's Big gun pipe. We called Big Gun and they gave us a bunch of excuses and no results. The Pipe was about 90 days old and the warranty is for 6 months. I am gonna have it welded around the base to stop the leaking. The aluminum is to weak to put in bigger rivets. I advise against Big gun also.

I got the same tough luck responce when I purchased three big gun systems. They blistered on the first ride and all they would do is recoat them in flat black. Stating the Bomb runs to hot for thier silver coat. One out of the three fit ok the other two leaked and caused loud poping every time you let off the gass.I payed $489.00 for each one. A very $$$$ lesson.I was promised all kinds of hp gains. LOL We compared them to stock and who ever had the big gun lost.

I can understand the rivets coming loose, and I would still have to say that you should contact your dealer. A good dealer would fix it to keep you coming back.

As for the coating bubbling and the performance loss, I have to say that is a jetting issue. I have seen too many bikes with this pipe on walk all over the stock exhaust to believe the pipe could be blamed for a performance loss. I've also seen the result first hand on the dyno. I've seen the coating dull a little, but turning colors sounds different to me.
