Hello all, I took my Baja out on it's maiden run last weekend, awesome! Before I took it out for the first time I installed a Big Gun Race exhaust, dynojet carb kit (185 main, third clip down, 2 1/4 turns) K&N filter with Pre filter and a Motion Pro Vortech twist throttle kit. Bike ran great. I did however get myself in a jam a couple times when I got to hell bent and carried away I was hangin on for dear life and I had more throttle then I wanted. I'm just curious what some of you pro's perfer, Twist or thumb?? I went with the twist because I know how to ride a motorcycle a whole lot better then I do a jet ski.I may have been wrong Rich A

I like the thumb the best. I drag alot and my NOS switch is very touchy. You don,t have to twist you wrist up and down. More stable for me.
Thanks

I'm no pro, but I like the thumb throttle a lot better. I seem to notice the more I ride the less my thumb bothers me. So, if that is the same for everyone, then just get out and ride more.

The twist throttle works okay for me when I'm just putting around, but when I try to do anything a little more extreme it generally ends up scaring the heck out of me.

A twist works better on a bike because you lean with the bike, where on a quad you don't so much. A twist on a quad is too "jumpy" for me.

Well I'm sure you've seen the videos, I prefer a TWIST and I ride a little extreme, the thumb makes it hard to ride over rough stuff because you don't have your thumb around the grip so its hard to hang on and when you reach for the lever with your fingers, its like taking your hand off the grip and that sux.

ahh, to each his own. The rough stuff is way I don't like a twist. I have a bad habit of getting bounced & then I can't relax on the twist & it's all out whether I want to or not. I clamp up around it. Funny how something so small make it a love or hate deal. I should have kept riding that CR 125 I guess......

All my other quads had a twist throttle which I liked better on those. The DS is muuuuch heavier so I'm leaving the thumb throttle on for a while so I can get used to it and weigh its vretues on this quad. Now I am putting a twist throttle on before the next outing so that I can judge for myself. If I find the DS to be harder to handle with the twist then the thumb goes back on. If its thumb, i'm looking at that new one thats been in this forum...can't remember the brand but its a must have.
