I was wondering if anybody makes -1" A-arms for the DS, I think it would be alot better woods runner if it lost 2" of width. I think it would still be more stable than a Raptor. Because both bikes are about the same height, and the DS would still be wider 48" vs. 45".
The only downfall I see to this is I would have to find shorter shocks, maybe have some custom made or some off of a snowmobile could work.

Thanx for any help

An easyer way than -1" a-arms would be to get wheels with 1" more inset than stock.

If you were to have -1" a-arms built, you could retain stock size shocks provided that the mounting points were kept in the stock location. It wouldn't be easy to fit the shock inside the upper a-arm, but it could be done. No one makes these arms now, but it's something I've thought about in the past.

Thanks Knutz, do you know of anyone who makes wheels like that, and how much they are?

I had OMF make me a couple of sets like that for my race team. We used +1" arms, but had to use those wheels to stay within the 50" limit. I'm sorry, but I don't know the price off hand.

Knutz, do you have any pics of that quad? Also does OMF have a website, and could I get some wheels like that for the rear also?

Thanx

No pics of that quad, but it's first race is this wekend, so there should be some pics on the web soon.

I don't think they have a web site.

You can order wheels like that for the rear as well, or you could save some money and just turn your stock wheels around in the back. If you bolt them on with the stem to the inside, you will narrow the rear about 4" and have no clearance issues like you would if you tried something like that on the front.

I'd be happy to order you a set if your intrested in them. The ones we used had rings on them, but we can get beadlocks or plain as well. Let me know what you want and I'll get you a price if you need.

Try www.hsdracing.com. They manufacture?/distribute Stong Arms and advertise stock width, +1 and -1. Not sure whether the shock mounts are designed to be used with the stock shocks though. When I called for standard width replacements they were running about three-four weeks out for production.

Now could someone give some info on a -2" Axle, does anybody make one? I was thinking of getting -1" A-arms, -2" Axle, Wheels with .5" more inset, & a pair of Elka shocks with the SAG device and put in about 2.5" of SAG, that would make the bike about 47" wide with a seat height of 31.5" if I did my math correctly.

Thanx, for any help

bumblebeedeer, I see you live in PA also. What kind of terrain do you ride in? I ride mostly on the Coal dumps & in the woods, Its not that the DS dont fit, but when you get in the ruts and stuff they start grabbing at your front wheels. I just ordered a Denton Steering Damper for mine should be in today or tomarrow, I'll see how much that helps. But I defently want it to be about an inch or two narrower.
