I kind of like the tach, mine came with it too. But hurycne is right the only time I look at it is when drag racing or dialing it in.

But I still like it. I would probably not buy one if it did not come with one though.

I bought the tach from the dealership that comes on the Baja - $119.99
It looks great, is lighted for night, and easy to glance at being analog. You just have to spend some time doing a good job cutting the hole in your dash, or else buy the Baja dash. Comes with rubber mounting ring - real nice if done right.

For another $79 you can get the Trailtech computer for speed, average speed, ride time, maintenance programming, and all that stuff.

Hightower Do you have any part numbers or a number to the place where you got your stuff? I want to add a tach before I do the NOS. I am really interested in the SPA Tach Speedo but HOw do they work? How do you hook it up? Mainly the Speed thing is what I am interested in. The Tach you have along with that computer thingy would be cheaper though. So if you could give us some info that would be great. Any Pics?

My local dealer AnytimePowersports has the Baja tachs in stock now!I was just begining to think the Bomb was never going to send them out.
Sweet set-up comes with the gromit and new dash panel. The wiring is pretty much plug and play NO SPLICING.
Having the tach in the hill drags, helps me set up the right gears to stay in the power
Ok now where is the Red Plastic?

What!??

All the other dealerships are getting the baja tachs in, but not my dealership? I was told the end of February when the tachs would be available. I've been on the waiting list since Christmas! grrrrr!

Hightower~
Were you put on a waiting list for your tach? When did you get it?

WIscrambler,
The tachs are $209.00...OEM parts..and I was wrong..you have to splice ONE wire....doh!!!
..BUT the kit comes with all necc. parts and pieces.
Good to se some dealers stocking some of the cool Baja OEM stuff.
I dont know if other dealers offer the whole kit like this.

That RED plastic is sweet...BUT...until they ship the new red DS 650's, no part number to order plastic As soon as I can order it..I will let you know..

PS..Jeff has been sniffing to much NOS...hehe..( he needs his DS back together so he can ride ) you have to SPLICE one wire to install our TACH kit on a standard DS650. All parts included.

When the DSBaja came out, I wanted the tach right away, so I went to my local dealer and told him to order me one. He said okay, and that it would be $109.99 for tach and everything to mount and wire it, except the dash - I had to cut the hole myself ever so carefully with a dremel. It took a week to come in.

That's all I can tell you all about that, but here's a site for the Trailtech computer: http://www.trailtech.net/atv.htm

By the way, Rocky Mountain ATV has the Trailtechs for the cheepest price I've found : If you don't have their catalog, go to their website - I don't know the address, you'll have to search it.
