I've seen the digital units that mount to your handlebars. From what I've read in the ad, it states that they'll give riding time, current speed, average speed, top speed etc. It doesn't say anything about RPMs. I was wondering if anyone has seen a ditital unit that keeps track of speed, as well as RPMs. I was thinking of getting a new CDI and would like to have a tach. It would just be nice to have a speedometer as well.

I agree, it looks like a nice unit. I was thinking the digital unit would be nice, but I've noticed if the digital disply isn't just shy of HUGE it's tough to read at speed, so I think the analog is probably better for our application. However, those digital units from Dakota look sweet, just small-ish.

After looking at the SPA "SPC-T 090-B" & "SPC-T 120-B" Tach/Temp Combos, I'm not sure which would be the ideal. I'm think it would be the 9k tach, but I can't recall if people were saying the DS should be revved over 9K. That would be ideal tach if 9k RPM were the top end of the extended range anyhow.

What do you hook these things up to, anyhow? I've never tried to install a Tach on, anything before.

The TACH-TEMP combo is $369.00 + shipping, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.
I E-mailed them yesterday.

If you read about the digital tach., I've noticed that the tach takes "samples" and only showes a average RPM not "real" time like analog tachs.

I wouldnt buy a tach if I didnt already have one. Mine came with it. The only tim I even look at is when I drag race, it is good to set my rpms at before I drop the clutch.
