My son and I have had 5 Polarisieises, They were reliable, handled well, with good suspension and definite user-friendliness. But they are heavy, the TrailBlazer, one of Polaris's lightest, weighs 461 pounds. Sound familiar? same as a DS. The TrailBoss weighs 504 lbs.
.....Still, they don't feel heavy as long as you don't jump them, and I doubt your wife will be catching much "big air". The two-strokes respond well to mods, the 4-strokes don't.
.....There isn't anything else out there as easy to ride, especially for a beginner. And the TrailBlazer is pretty cheap too.

The bike I'll buy my wife is the trailblazer 400. I'm very impressed with that bike all the way around. Its got good power, plenty for duning but it's smooth, no surprises. Reverse is a plus. The weight didn't seem noticeable and the bike is fairly wide and stable. The suspension feels better than the DS or the 400ex until you limit out, but still didn't kick or bounce. The front brake lever is tied to the rear brakes as well enabling a newer rider to stand more solidly on the floorboards and confidently brake. Electric start and a good low price don't hurt either and quite a few aftermarket parts available. Some friends have the 2x4 and raced another friend up a dune with the 4x4. Two people on the 2x4 and the guy with the 4x4 weighs about 145. They beat him so badly he went home and sold his bike. I guess 4x4s have their place but I just havn't seen it yet. It must be in a foot of mud.

Muhahahaha. Working on Frankenzilla. Cbr 1000 on modified quad forum. You had a good time in the Snow I see. The snow almost came to us. Did you take the Baja or the DS? Are you going to try to IJOP, not the pancake house, if we get back to work? About to change my name to mystermom.
