TEMPERATURE

What is the normal riding temperature of the ds,i mean the temperature of the motor when idling.
I'm asking this because my fan does not work and the red light came on when my ds got to 174.5c.
Can you guys give me some feedback on this.....

DSWolf the shop manual says fan thermostat open at 205f and close at 221f. Engine thermostat open at 185f and close at 167f.I hope this helps.It also states that if the temp. gets to 212-230 it should have enough pressure to lift the 16lb pressure cap and go into the overflow.Good luck.
