i havent had a problem w/ the xhaust hitting the swingarm or maybe i havent noticed it. i hear everyone saying its inexpensive. compared to the big gun or hmf--- it is expensive. i bought it because i figured it would allow the motor to produce the most power.

Loops,
Where did you get yours? I looked at the HMF and called about it, was told they were backordered 2-3 weeks. I got my T-4 from Rocky Mountain, it was in stock and was $189, add the Quiet Core and shipping to MA I think the total was about $240.

Sweet, I was hoping that you guys were going to say that. I think that I can talk the wife into that one. She's been freaking out with all the $ that I've spent lately. Bike, Helmet, Son's Helmet, Pants, Boots, Goggles, Gloves, etc. I was looking for something on the cheap side but with good performance.

I appreciate all the reply's you guys are a big help.

Since this thread is running fairly strong I thought I'd ask a question...like I said earlier I bought my quad with the Pro Circuit already installed. From the adds I see that three different tips are available. I couldn't say exactly which one I have but from the pics I'd say I have the "intermediate" tip--the tip between the least and greatest restrictive opening. I think they are $20-30 each. Have any of you experimented with the different tips? Also just to note here, I have the 'quiet core' which consists of a cone shaped screen...that is what is referred to as the quiet core, yes? BTW, I didn't notice a difference when I installed it so far as sound goes...too much heavy metal in my teens!

The T-4 for the DS comes with the 2" end cap, there is a 1 3/4" and a 1 1/2" available, $28 each but I haven't bought them to try yet. There is a spark arrestor in the pipe, it is a reverse cone made of screen and doesn't restrict much flow, the opening at the end of the cone is about the same size as the 2" opening on the end cap. The Quiet Core replaces that spark arrestor with another one, the screen looks identical, but it has a metal plate welded on with the hole for gases to pass though significantly smaller, I thinks it's less than one inch in diameter. I tried the Quiet Core and it made the exhaust note higher and a little quieter, but killed most of the power. I ended up taking the Quiet Core out, runing the 2" cap and like the deep tone. The best test was when I did some laps in the yard for quick testing and my wife said it was louder, but she actually liked the sound...she's pretty critical of overly loud bikes.

i got a stock DS, if i got the pro circuit T-4, would i have to get rid of my rev limiter also? or would it be ok to keep the stock one. i dont know what to get 22" tires or a pipe. which would i probably get more performance out of?

Bomber650,

I run the T-4, K&N Filter with no lid and I still have the stock CDI. I plan on getting a CDI from Knuutz in the near future, just to get those last few hundred revs out of it. I run 22" Sur traks and really like them. Good in the conditions I ride including rocky trails, soft drt, hard pack, mud and snow. I had to go to a 15T front sprocket after the change to the bigger tires to get the gear ratio for the woods riding I do, and am considering going a little bigger on the rear sprocket to gear a little lower. All in all, I am very happy with the mods I've made so far, the K&N, rejetting and T-4 have really improved the low end, and the Sur Traks help put that increased power to the ground. If I were you I'd get a K&N and rejet first, this helped alot with minimum expense then if you still have the Kenda's, get tires, then a pipe, just my opinion.

I recently put the T-4 on my Baja and I love it...I noticed a measurable amount of difference with the pipe and the K&N power kit. I went to Snake Hunt and while drag racing, I noticed I was nailing the stock limiter every shift, it feels like it wants to keep pulling...
