I just bought a 95 blaster today real cheap from a guy that was about to throw it away. He said the transmission, clutch and motor were in great shape and that he had cranked it up two weeks prior but that he was riding it one day in normal conditions and it just shut down on him. He later found out talking with a mechanic over the phone that it had little to no spark and that he was told that the magneto housing on left side was probably dirty. Well, after buying it from him I took off the left side cover and it was full of dirt. He also handed me 5 screws and said they tried to take the magneto off the bike after removing the center nut/washer and 5 screws around the outside of the housing. Needless to say I can't seem to get it off either. But I have never messed with the electrical system on these bikes before. Can you take that assembly off in the first place? If so how? I would like to at least try and get behind and inside the housing so I can get all the dirt out of there. Who knows it may work just fine after I clean it up. -Thanks!

You will need a Yamaha puller to remove it.
