I said I was guessing. My bike breaks 80mph with stock gearing, 20" tires. I'm not bothering with the math, your guess is as good as mine. Plenty of guys on this forum do 90 on their DS's, maybe somebody else will chime in with an answer...

And you are piped and jetted with a CDI box, too. What size tires come on the DS's? Yeah, I've seen some some of the mods. some of the guys have. Holy Cow, hang on!! Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be argumentative with you, just curious.

Yeah, that's cool dude, I'm really curious too.
The pipe and jetting gets me much more low end torque, with minimal top end gains as typical with most pipe mods, but I know I gained on top with the CDI.
Stock tires on the DS are 20".
The DS that won the baja 2000 race was claimed to be all stock except pipe - not even an aftermarket CDI. It ran 22" tires with 17/37 gearing and had a claimed top end over 100. I say again, "claimed", there's been some contraversy over this.

The above site will show the picture of the DS pacer. At second glance, it appears to be an Alba DS, and the pipe does look aftermarket...

I remember when it won. There is always contraversey my man, always! I didn't know about the 100mph thing though. I couldn't imagine. Well, it will be interesting to hear about it on race day. I'm sure one of the mags. will have some type of write up on it.

Hey, where all do you ride anyway? Do you go to the Badlands?

Badlands is God's gift to Hoosier riders. I don't know what I'd do if they closed it. I'm there at least once a month. Haspin a couple times a year too.
I'm riding Badlands saturday, June 15, with a couple guys - one will be a blue Lakota Sport who is contemplating a new pipe and stuff. You need to show up if you can, so he can see the difference it makes so he'll stop thinking and just do! How about it?

Sounds good to me! I'll be there tomorrow as a matter of fact. Yes! God's gift. I have never been to Haspin. I've heard good and bad, but to be honest, mostly bad. He will be amazed at the diff.

Sorry dude, my Lakota buddy can't make it after all, he's going to Colorado. You're still welcome to join us though, bring whoever with you too, the more the merrier!
It'll be me and my DS, a ATC350X, and a 400EX, plus you.

Haspin is cool, all woods, treachorous hills, big big big hills! Sucks bad after a rain though, clay mud that cakes two feet thick on the fenders...

Cool! Thanks for the invite. At this point in time I should have not probs. going. I have to warn you though, after a nasty spill, I'm kinda hill shy these days.

I'll have to check out Haspin. There is another place. It's about 12 miles south of Bloomington. I believe it's called Lawrance County Recreational Park. I've been told the correct name 7 times, but still can't remember it. I know that Lawrance County is right. It was in Dirt Wheels a few months ago. eRAPTOID knows the name and has been there. He spoke pretty well of it, however said he hasn't been there for a little while, so may be better now. Obviously, I haven't been there either, however certainly plan on going there as well.
