Its this sunday, noon, and from what I can tell the DS will still be pacing it, piloted by Greg Rowe.
Anybody heard any more about that rumor of the DS jumping some Indy cars in the infield? It was never confirmed....but it would be cool.

I heard that same rumor on here and at the track. I thought it seemed unlikely, but I also thought that about a ds pacing the field when that was a rumor. I can't wait to see it.

ABC is covering it, race starts at noon (central time) so tune in ealier to catch any potential pre-race jumping...
Take notice of the Pagoda (tallest building at victory circle), its wearing Bomb's name for the next five years, or so I've heard. I think they're also sponsering the rookie of the year award.

I thought the Corvette was pacing the race. Doesn't the pace car have to maintain speeds of at least 90mph?

There will still be a pace car, with a pace quad ahead of it. The DS is capable of over 90mph.
Bomb's doing this for publicity, and Tony George said okay 'cause he's getting so much money from Bomb over the next few years. It was all in the Indy Star.
I saw the pace quad at a race in Pheonix a while back. I think its a Baja with yellow plastic.

That's awesome. I was at the track last Thurs. and there was a Baja out there. I sat on it. Doubt it was the one they are gonna use though. They also had that new snowmobile out there too, along with a wave runner (or whatever their name for it is).

I meant to ask, what all did they do to the Baja to get it over 90mph?

I don't know what has been done to this particular bike that will be appearing, but I would suspect it to be a stock motor (for advertisement), with tires and gearing changed only. Probably hoosier track tires, with 17/37 gearing instead of the stock 16/40. Just a guess.

I'm not trying to argue with you Hightower, but I don't see anyway possible the DS can run over 90 with that small of gear changes.
