Does anybody have step by step instructions on how to jet a stock carb? Also, do you have to take the carb off to jet it? Thanks.

you do not need to take off the carb to jet it. First you have to take off the bowl on the bottom of the carb be carefull not to strip the screws they can be hard to get out the first time. Then you need to take out the main jet assembly with a little wrench (I forget what size), take out the jet from inside the assembly and replace it with a new size. Be carefull not to strip out the jet as it is brass and a real pain to get out if you do (there was a post about this a little while back). Put every thing back in reverse order and if you want replace the screws that hold the bowl on with allen head screws to make life easier in the future. Good luck.

I think that the screws that you need are three 8mm x 4mm and one 10mm x 4mm metric thread. At least I think that is what demon told me. As for getting them out It is a real pain in the but but if worse comes to worse you can use vice grips like my buddie and replace the screws later. Good luck.

Take a small saw, and cut a line threw the midel of the screw, then use a flat head screwdriver and they come out no problem. you have to replace them though, i did, with allen heads, now i takes less then a minute to swich main jets.

Default Jetting instructions?

it is REALLY easy. Did you get the Dynojets? or stock jets???

1: Turn your gas off
2: Drain your carb, its the screw on the bottom with the hose.
3: under the float (bottom) bowl there are 4 screws remove them ( DO NOT STRIP)
3: use I think is an 8mm wrench and a flat tip narrow driver.
put the wrench around the main Jet base, its the long hollow brass tube with holes.
4: put the screw driver UP the hole and turn CC untill its free.
5: put your NEW jet in the brass tube with holes in it and then put your screwdrivers in as well and seat it back in the carb.
6: put your wrench back on and make it snug, not to tight just snug.
DONE with Main Jet.

Needle

1: Take the top 2 screws off ( DO NOT STRIP)
2: pull out the slide (its the big rubber thing) and to not rip it.
3: take the BIG spring out
4: using a needle nose pliers go DOWN the shaft and grip the plastic incert and GENTLY pull it out
5: DO NOT LOOSE THE SPRING ON THE INCERT
6: the needle should now be free, if its not push lightly up on the needle and it will be free
7: NOTE the order of spacers.
8: install or readjust your stock or aftermarket needel and put it back in the slide.
9: put the incert back in
10: put the spring on
11: put the cover back on and tighten screws.
DONE

1: Close the float bowl screw if its still open
2: turn the gas back on.
3: start the ATV, its gonna be hard the first time as the carb is dry.

If its hard to start after its been running then adjust your air fuel screw. ( screw it in, then back it out 2 7/9 - 3 turns)

A pic of the carb can be found at BUTFUNGUSS

Hope that helps

is that a DYNO Jet 190? if it is then it should be fine, if its a MUKUNI jet its WAY to rich.

I took my lid off my airbox and I took the rubber seal off also. just make sure your drain plug in your airbox is out so if water does get in it will not stay in
