Brake Expert Help!!
#1
I have less then 20 hrs on it. I noticed last time I rode that the brakes were really squishy. So I got some dot4 and bled the brakes. No difference. However I did notice that the caliper will move when pressing the brake. The other does not. It looks like it bows. I removed it and reinstalled it ensuring it was on correct. I noticed that instead of sliding on the holding bolts it actually moves forward. When I looked down on the brakes and seeing the rotor I noticed that the when standing in FRONT looking BACK the rear outer pad is not touching and the front inner pad is not touching. Telling me that the caliper is NOT centered?!? Correct? When I press the brakes it squeezes the rotor and makes it then centered! Does this mean I need a new caliper? the other side is just fine its in line and does not move. This actually moves about 3mm it just flexes forward? would this make my brakes squishy? I also noticed that my rotor is slightly warped. maybe like 1 mm.. I believe the caliber looks easy to replace?? How about the rotor? taking the front hubs off? need seals ?? am I on the right track? I don’t have muco bucks to be wrong...
