I run the exact combination except for I have 9-paddle Extremes. It depends on how much you weigh and your modifications, and also how fast you want to get up that hill. In second gear at 7000 RPM considering the bike will maintain that, you are looking at 32 MPH. I want to be able to climb up in third gear so I am putting in a 42T rear to compensate for my weight and Mods. I see by your mods you are close to me, except I don't see you have The CDI or a larger carb. I am about 6'5" and weigh in at about 275. I let a guy who weighed about 140 ride miy quad up Chokecherry and he made it in third, but just barely. He also got a late shift from 4th to 3rd. He said he was at 6700 rpm when he shifted to 3rd. Anyway there ar some good parameters for you and I will let you know how the changes work out after this weekend. Good Luck.

Well let me tell you something! I just fought for an hour trying to put on my new RWR 42T rear sprocket. First you have to trim some meat off your chain guard, then you have to notch out the sprocket to fit over the Sprocket hub. But that isn't the worst of it! Those Idiots over at Bombardier torque down the stupid wheel hub nut down to 173 ft. lbs.!!! Can yopu beleive this crap! I bent a damn good screw driver trying to break this thing free. First of all they are stupid for making it a 35mm or 1 1/2 inch nut, second is you aren't going to get this thing off with out an impact gun. I am sure you could pull it off with a cheater bar or something but your risking damaging something. Thank goodness my friend up here in Wy had a 3/4 impact gun and a 1 1/2 in socket. Zipped right off! I will keep you posted. GOOD LUCK!

What did you guys find out.

I am interested in trying a lower gear to see if it would get me to the top quicker.

Do you still start in second gear?

Can I drop a tooth in front without removing a chain link?

How long did it take you guys to drop a tooth in front?

I went to a 15T front, and I did it in about 20 min. this sprocket will work with the stock chain.

Well i have found out that it depends on your weight. If you are under 200LBs that combonation works ok. But I find the 15/42 combo works best with those tires for the best overall performance. You will loose some top end but your holeshots will be awesome out of second gear, just ask Demon.

15/43 combo works very good withe 22" paddles. Like angrybaja said top end wont be as fast but it kicks butt for hill shooting.

I am running 14/40 combination with the stock chain length, no links removed. Changing the front sprocket is easy...I have a 41 tooth for the rear but haven't attempted the change yet. I have run the stock 16/40 combination with 20" 12 paddle Haulers and it worked good starting out in first but not second, at least for me anyway.

I run 20" 10 paddle haulers, with 16/40 gearing, and I'm in fourth gear by the end of a 100yrd flat drag (starting in 1st gear), winding each gear to 8000rpm. For hill drags, I would go 14T or 15T up front, depending on conditions and sand type.
