I know that some of you DS boys can help. I am looking for the clear hoses for the radiator and can't find them for my Raptor. Are the ones for the DS fitted like for a car or is it flexible like heater hose? Just wondering if one for a DS would fit my Raptor, or if I could modify it to.

Team Alba sells them, along with coolant dye for something over $100. Also, if your Raptor is Blue or you want blue coolant, you could run Engine Ice, which very notably reduced the operating temperature of my DS.

Blackhawk,
Did you just our the engine ice in? Or are you running straight distilled water?

Forget that! You can go to home depot and get the same stuff for around 5 dollars. I have been running my houses now for 3 months with no problems, and it looks good to boot! Save your self the cash! If I had some pics Id show ya, you cant tell a difference, other than in the wallet

Thanks for all the help. I haven't looked at Rocky Mnt and have never seen them for a Raptor on Alba's but I will check.

Roostking what are the hoses you have used for? I mean where in there would I look for them? I would feel funny walking in there asking for clear radiator hose, ya know.

RoostKing,

I'm with Ward660R, if you're paying $5 for clear high temp hoses that look as good or better than the $100 set, we've gotta know. I'm liking the sound of that. I know quite a few people who would love to get in on that, especially guys with Blue Raptors then just run engine ice and you've got cooler running Blue radiator coolant!

I initially was looking around for High Temp water heater hose(thats how it was explained to me, around the hot water heaters and such. Didnt find it there. Where I did find it was a few rows over(home depot) where there was a bunch of plumbers fittings. Many sizes of hoses were higher on the racks, all on spools. If you want, you can get a small piece to take home and test (boil, i boiled mine for over 2 hours, didnt faze it one bit)before you buy it. Ive ran mine for 3 months now with no problem. I was worried that over time it might discolor, but it has not and can truly say it was the best $5.00 ive ever spent.

Some pics of clear radiator hose from Home Depot, Dont get all Jealous over the Banshees though!

the original thread where I got the Idea and was told what they were. Again, Mean banshee ahead...

Go for it.
