I bent my one of my tie rods this weekend. Does anyone know where I can just get the rod itself and not the whole assembly? The dealer is saying I need the whole $70 assembly.

I did the same thing shortly after getting my ds. I had to buy the whole asembly to get the tie rod itself.

Give me the exact dimensions with the thread size and I will make you a matching set for $35.- plus shipping (or one, but they probably won't match color unless you paint it/ for $25.- + shipping). I can have it done by Wed.

There has to be someone out there that has a pair sitting in there garage they'd be willing to share. Yamaha charges $6 a piece.

I thought abought having a set made where i work. I am a CNC Machinist but i run a mill and that dont work to put OD threads on a rod. The next problem i had with building them myself was that i had no idea what type of material they used. If you make them from to hard of material you run the risk of bending or breaking something else more expensive, too soft and they will bend real easaly.
