The August issue of ATV Action has a 250R with 400EX plastics and a 2001 Honda CBR600 F4 100hp engine in it. It was made by Calo racing thay made a Yamaha R1 powered Quadzilla that can goes 167mph it ran 9.96 at 132mph in a 1/4 mile WOW!!!!!

Has anyone tried or thought about putting a street bike engine in the DS?

What kind of engine would fit the ds without having to play around with the frame too much?

I'd love to put a Honda v-twin motor in a DS. frame. I rode an RC51 the other day and that thing has tons of power and not just on the top end. It's around 135 hp and must be pretty light. I've looked on Ebay for wrecked ones and I think it could be done for the price of a Pami 703. I don't have the time for any more projects till about 2005.
A friend and I just got done building his a superquad which is a CBR 1000 with a quadzilla front end and swingarm. It's heavy at #665 but it's wickedly fast and trail rides almost as well as my DS. (we used a DS rear shock)

I think a number of people have entertained the thought - I know I do on a regular basis- for some reason Bomb decided to put the drive spocket on the opposite side of just about everything else that's out there ( just to complicate things for us). I for one would like to keep the rear end the way it is on the stock bike - unless it isn't too difficult to find an axle setup that would work. The RC51 twin would be my top chice as well but would require some significant frame mods to fit , most in-line fours would be pretty wide and for my ridding style ( all the way forward ) I think I'd be too close to the motor- still I dream of 100+hp on pump gas -If you figure something out that's feasable share it with us.

HE WAS TELLING ME IT IS A 130HP RATED ENGINE!!!.I was going to buy the thing but the price went up from the frist time i talked to him. So it was'nt worth it to me but its still for sale as far as i know. And bourgett knows his stuff so its not just a hack job he has some of the best builders in the country working for him.

So the biggest problem is that the drive sprocket is on the opposite side.
Why can't the drive shaft be flipped over so the sprocket is on the other side? I see the
chain roller and the brake would has to be moved too.
Is that all that would have to be moved?

Thanks for all the info,
Schoolboyrowe
