k&n power kit
#1
i have a question having trouble on needle setting and jet.Where do you set the needle at and which jet size do you use?We tryed stage one and it made the bike go slower, and we setted it to second notch with 180 jet& went with k&n specs and i also took off the top cover on the airfilter. Then we went to stage three rejetted it,setting needle at the third notch and went with a 190 jet again went with k&n specs. again and it didn't make a differenced thanks...

I'm assuming you bought the jet kit? If so you need stage 1 directions if you leave the lid on, stage 3 directions if you remove the lid or go with a crab mount filter.
The main jet is gonna depend on the bike and pipe, but what the directions recommend is a good place to start. Make sure to take altitude in consideration.
The Trinity pipe is gonna flow some mega-air, I'd wager you are lean with the 190 even. I'd guess you need the third groove from top on the needle, with the big 200 main jet, providing you are sea level. If it were me, I'd put in the 200 main and a new plug, go for a ride. If it feels good then put some time on it - it takes a couple hours to get good color on the plug. If she's nice and tan on the end of the ceramic then you're good to go. With that pipe, you might even try the 4th groove, but if you get a tiny lag or stumble when you hammer it under load at low rpm then it'll need to go back down to the 3rd. You need to get the main jet right before you tweek the needle though, so leave it on the 3rd until you're staisfied with the main.
- I run a Yoshi slip-on, K&N with no lid, and I'm 3rd groove down w/ 195 main, sea level.
FYI - 210 is the largest jet made for this carb.

Well, I bet when you get it dialed in right, you will have a pretty big difference in power. I am Piped/jetted/filtered with the mikuni jets, and I was getting beat by Biggerisbetter, who is all stock except a jet kit, and Filter, and I weigh less than him, also. A jet kit will probably be my next mod.
