I decided the other day to repair my oringinal cooling fan. I had read here on the forum that it may be possible that just a brush wire may need to be resoldered. So I took on the task, and sure enough one of the brush wires was broken. So I re-soldered it, but everything back together and tested it and sure enough it ran as soon as power was sent to it. Well, the one I had in my bike from Offroad wearhouse went out. So I put the one I fixed back in. And the dang thing runs backwards. How can this be? Aside from maybe putting the magnets in a diff. location you can't put it together wrong without it not working. Well It works. LOL....only it runs backwards. Any thoughts.

I just fixed mine today and my wire broke lose also. As for it going backwards that doesn't make since. Are you sure it blowing the wrong way? It is supposed to blow toward the engine.

Yep, it's blowing away from the motor. As you look at the fan from the motor side my fan runs clockwise. It sucks a lighter flame into the fan. Now how can this be. It just aint possible. Is it?

Well, if it is running good then just cut the wires before it gets to the first connector (part that you can attach and detach) and switch them around then they will spin the right way. I still dont know how it is possible that it is spinning the wrong way.

Good idea. I make up some jumper wires and cross them and see what happens. Although with a 12 volt system that shouldn't make any diff. One just goes to ground. All that happens is either curren goes through or it doesn't. But i'll try any way. Very, very weird indeed.

Well all be........
That did the trick. Guess i'll try to get it to fit the wrong way in the wire connector some how. Unbelievable.

Cool, I am glad it will work out. And why dont you just cut the wires and switch them around that way the plug will still fit right in and it will just be easyer
