Wow, I like that setup of the gearing infor. At least you kinda know where the ball park how fast the bike can go....depending on the condition of the land you are on....

Eaglecollector,

Just wondering. What will happen if I were to change the gear ratios for certain gears on the Raptor Calc to the 2002 ratios. Will it still be accurate?

Now I have a gearing question.

IS it any benefit to lower your gearing by the rear sprocket, instead of just lowring the # of teeth of the front sprocket??? What I mean is, Would it be better for the leverage to be directly on the Axle? and also would it be easier on the CLUTCH if the leverage was on th eaxle instead of on the motor itself.

Swytak,

I can answer that one. Yes. Just change the info to the 2002 gears and hit the calculate button.

By either dropping a tooth on the front sprocket or adding teeth to the rear you can reduce the load/stress on the clutch and transmission, but more stress is then added to the sprockets and chain. In the 01' Raptors case any amount of stress that can be removed from the tranny, the better.
