I talked to Gary today and the carbs will be here tommarow. I will start tuning them this weekend. I will keep you posted on how much it helped. I am thinking that I may need to up my compression to 15:1 does anybody have any input on this subject? And also I think that I need to advance my timing.

you can pull the base gasket out from under your jug and use a thin layer of yamabond in place to seal it. worth about 0.6 of a compression point.so if you were 12 to 1 you will now be 12.5 to 1. you can also lose some of that big head gasket. the ds head gasket is 70thousands. get you one made that is smaller than that based on how far you want to go. cometic gasket has some smaller ones. you can also mill your head some. just check your piston to valve clearance. or ask your good buddy scooby for one. he has copper head gaskets that are 43 thousands thick. good luck

then you have to worry about timing chain slack! somebody said pami has a mechanical timing chain slack adjuster!!!

He can not remove the base gasket since it is an alluminum gasket at .75MM.

His head gasket is 1 MM thick and 105.5 MM bore, so replaceing it is not an easy deal. It would require a custom gasket.

He already has a mechanical cam chain tentioner, it's standard on the 760 since the oil no longer goes to the hydraulic one to keep it pumped up.

I know its embarrasing but being a nitrous dude my compression ratio is only 10.1 and i definetly know the difference.so if your 12.1 or better you will be in for a good time.

What about getting Pami to build a few more pistons for the 760...13:1,14:1 & 15:1....how bout it Knutz?
Also I had talked to Elliot(RWR) about there degree key....we thought if it was heat treated or Chryo treated maybe it would hold up(they shear easy)

Not too many options here. Don't remove the base gasket as it will change the quench area. Anything tighter than .035" without an exceptional quality rod will cause mr. piston and mr. head to have an unfortunate get together.

Shaving the head is an option, but you can only remove so much before you have issues with P-V clearance. Shaving the head, along with decreasing any of the other gaskets, will change cam timing!

Your best and safest bet is to get a high compression piston.

i do not think the timing key will work no matter what. the flywheel can still get slack in it and kick back.

i have my own timing advance system if anyone is wanting one i MIGHT build you one.

rockey you are VERY right about the cam timing. its the exhaust advanshed and the intake slower. can tell you guys what to do after that. but it takes time. i MIGHT sell my head now. i have another that is not shaved that i am going with.

650manaic it should give you about 10%. which would be about 6-7HP. it will also have alot more throttle responce. do not jet by plug color. alky doesn't work that way.
