New Honda?

I went to the local dealer today to get some parts for my street bike. While there I got into some B.S. with a mechanic and the sales manager. I heard the manager mention the new Honda sport quad to be a 650cc twin. That's when I started to ask questions. They didn't have a spec sheet, but this is what I got out of the conversation. It's a 650cc twin with the front cylinder almost horizontal to the ground, 71hp, water cooled, manual 5 speed w/ reverse and 408lb. The demension are real close to the DS @ 51" wide, 52" wheel base, 11.5" front travel and 12.5 rear. I asked if they got their info from the Dirt Wheels April fools add. These guys were dead serious!
Anyone hear anything in their area? This would be a dream bike. I guess if it sounds to good to be true it usually is. Personally I don't believe it! I think Honda will have a 500EX type and that's all.

O.K. guys, remember where you heard this ; A Honda rep who handles some of the biggest dealers in the U.S. says the new quad is a 600EX. Why not a 650EX? Who knows. He said it was of course liquid cooled with reverse and wouldn't say anymore. He was right on last year by saying there wasn't a new big bore sport quad. Hope he's right again!

Spongebob, The Honda RC51 v-twin streetbike is a 1000cc and makes 138hp, 71hp from a 650 shouldn't be a problem. That 1000 only weighs 50+ lbs over a ds engine. I'd buy the first one if Honda would build those, but just like I told my polaris riding freinds that were waiting for the predator, I don't think any manufacturer will stick there neck out and build something a whole lot faster than the pack. When the media can't find any more causes and starts in on atvs again, no one wants to be the leader of the pack.
