I want to modify my end cap, What is the best method internally??
If I use a 2 1/4" pipe far into the muffler does it need to be? How do I make a reverse cone Inside?

I just pulled the spark arrester off and cut the inner restricture tubes off and reinstalled the spark arrester. It is a little louder and seemed to give it a little kick.

This topic has been covered several times already. Do a search for 'end cap' in the Bombardier section and you will get over a dozen different threads to look at.

Cutting off the restricting tubes under the spark arrestor screen basically makes the stock pipe just like the aftermarket pipes - free flow through a glass pack. Since doing this increases air flow then you need to also increase fuel flow - you will have to rejet doing this - if you haven't yet, you need to.

Yep! Hightower's correct! If your going to go rejet you might as well change the stock air filter for an aftermarket one to help your beast breathe!

Take a look here at other ds setups and compare to yours.

DS jetting/mod info... You have 2 choices with the stock carb. 1. mikuni main jets or dynojet(k&n) jet kits. The dynojet(k&n) kit comes with jetting instructions for just about any setup. Here is a picture of my end cap that was built by someone. It has a 2.5" opening. This is just one design. There are many others.

I cut mine off right after I bought it. About a year and a half ago.I did put a K-n filter on the carb and moved up to a 180 main jet.It seems to work well.
