running hot?

i noticed my fan has been coming on like all the time, i bought engine ice and tried that, now it doesn't come on after high speeds but it still comes on alot,wat can i do to stop this? i was thinkin maybe ct racing shrouds? am i runnin lean or somethin?

Check out Buttfungus's jetting/mods page and see if your jetting is correct for your elevation. There is alot of set ups on that page that might help.

Check your plug. When my bike was running realy hot I was running way rich. I had to come down 2 jets.

Checking your jetting is a good idea, you should do that just because. I have the CT radiator shrouds, and I think they are pretty decent. I added some stick on ruubber stuff to prevent any metal to metal contact. I'd have to have a pair of $65 radiator shrouds wear a hole in a $400-500 radiator. I also added a little bit where the front plastic contacts the shroud as well, since the plastic was wearing a hole into the shroud.

The radiator cost me only aout $150.00 from Parker Yamaha

It should be like a golden tan color.

well i just went out n checked my plugs, they are darker then golden brown, wat does that mean?

I am having the same problem. I have my fan on a manual switch so I can turn it one when need be. Well, its been hot the last few weeks. so when I get on it and get it warmed up I turn the fan on. With the fan running the whole time I will still get a overheating light after about 45 minutes of riding. Plugs look good! I am out of ideas.
