I recently bought a 2002 Bombardier Quest 500 and after about 5 hours of riding I have 2 big concerns. First, I hear a clunking on occasion if I work the throttle numerous times on the trail. I'm asssuming it's the CVT belt and pulleys but I'm wondering if this is normal. Second, Today I opened the air box and found some oil puddled in the bottom beneath the air filter. I think I read in one of these forums that someone else had the same thing. My dealer said he didn't want to see the machine in for a check until about 200 miles but I'm starting to wonder about this guy. I also never received anything in writing about my 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. He said that I will be in the computer and any bomby dealer would have me on record. If anyone out there can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You.

The oil in the air box is air filter oil, it should feel super sticky and the filter should be cover in it. Nothing to worry about, a little extra won't hurt. The clunking in the auto tranny, I've noticed mine is not always the smoothest and if you're like me you worry about the rubber band and pulleys. Ride around on it some more and see if the quad is acting funny. As for the 3 year warranty call another dealer and ask them it might not hurt to ask about the tranny also. If you being to feel like your dealer has jerked you around call Bomb and file a complaint.

Thanks a lot for your help. I guess I'm a little keyed up about me first atv purchase. I'm also going to give my dealer the benefit of the doubt. He did give me a good deal on this bike and all in all I really like it. I think that the bike's biggest downfall is not having a recoil starter as standard equipment. I think Bombardier missed the boat on this one. Anyway, thanks again and Happy Wheeling!!!
