What is the difference between alky and methanol? Is that methanol the same that is put in some petro pipe lines to keep them from freezing up in winter?

dsmike, i mostly ride at little sahara, about 95% of the time, other than that i will ride at local farms with friends, i have the mikuni 45 mm carb, i ordered my alcohol kit for ron wood monday and should be getting it hopfully today, i would love any help that you would give, for starters what polit and main jets are you running, and did you go with cooler burnig plugs, the guy i talked to at ron woods said that i only needed to add more gap in the plugs that are already in the bike.

Maniac650 is talking about taking his off of alky and going back to gas. He says it is milking his oil and he is having to change it dam near every time he goes and rides.

Every one around here with a DS on alky has this problem. Randy says it is feeding the motor too much alky and it is getting past the rings and in to his oil.

Adjusting the air mix screw should cure the milky oil.
