New competition at FSW's? A 700 vtwin Kawi!!!!

I can tell this is going to end up in a flaming post, sorry.
There is NO WAY that a standard DS and a BAJA weigh the same amount. On the Baja you have the added weight of the rings in the wheels, the heat shaild, more lights and wires. I am not saying that all of this would add up to the 505 but I am just saying that they can't weight the same.
You are right the frame breaks on the Raptor. It does on EVERY other machine out there given the right circumstances.
I don't know what to think about the new Kawi. At first I was thinking what a joke, but after reading what a few of you had to say I am undecided. It will probably have its market its just not for me. Like Angry said "what a Tank"

As far as the CVT tranny goes. You will NEVER see a serious drag racer knock it. Think about it. If its tuned right, the motor is at PEAK horsepower the entire time, while drag racing. All other things equal, if you take two quads and one has a CVT and the other has manual, the CVT will smoke it. Dependability might be questionable with a lot of ponies behind it.

i think the kawi might give you tank drivers a run for your money. true the kawi probably wont be in the tight trails or on the mx track much, but are those huge a$$ ds 650s running out there either? no, well not competitively anyway.

i like too.
and i think you raptor and DS owners are going to be in for one rude awakeing when you have spent thousands of dollars on mods and that kawi comes rolling up and straight smokes your butt.just think that a 600+ pound prairie gives those darn raptors and DS's a run in stock form just think what that hopped up motor can do in a lighter chassis? think about it. and the automatic is a very efficient drivetrain that puts power to the ground and takes the gearing equation out of it..
i seen plenty of built raptors and DS's get beat yesterday at the grass drags bya scrambler 500 and a measly little 440 ex with a stock carb and cam.in fact the little 440ex won the 500-700cc 4 stroke class yesterday.hahahahaha!!
so you big bore boys better think twice about blowing off this new machine as a non threat. cause it's going to wax that a$$.i will put money on it.i'll bet that it'll be 55+ hp in stock form.with plenty of potential for alot more.

Are you gonna buy one? If you do, let us know how it works out for you when you've got it in your garage & on your trailer or whatever you use to tote your machines. I'm not one to speculate on stuff like this, I like hearing what people who own the machines have to say.

Dude go buy one and I will gladly put your *** back in truck headed home with your head hung in shame with your foot in that big mouth. All I can say to the first owner is bring it!!
Dont get me wrong, I like the quad, and I know the CVT is an excellent speed tranny. I support anything new and inovative but just like we heard how the Raptor just dominated the DS and well to say dominating would be about as far of a stretch as one could go.

Right on Demon!, I think it is pretty cool also but I am not sure if i would buy one. By the way don't get your hopes up that the motor in this thing is juiced up stock. They didn't do anything different but puch it up to 700. No bigger cams or anything like that, it is still a prairie in a Wolfs clothing. I got the word on the engine specs from some aftermarket people today that are trying to make some goodies for it.
