i know exactly how ya feel, i'm in almost the same situation, i would highly suggest a slip-on exhaust, i've heard good things about the HMF pipe, put personaly i like the FMF Titanium 4, but i think its $247 from rockymountainatv.com, they have free shipping inside the us

Don't worry, if you're 14 and have a DS650, you're already 9+ years ahead of me. I wasn't able to buy my first ATV until 22, and 24 when I bought my DS650. I don't think I have heard anything bad about the HMF from anyone who owns it. I believe you get your choice of colors on that one as well.

My suggestions-
Get a local shop to modify your end cap for you. It might cost you $50 or so and the power will be on par with a slip on. Have them cut a 2.5"-3" hole in the end, and weld a pipe on the outside at a 30 degree angle. Tell them it's stainless steel befor they start.
Then get an air filter that fits on the carb so you no longer use the air box. That's about $60. Skip this one if you ride in deep water regularly.
Then take the rest and put it towards some quality rear tires. The Kenda's are terrible and need to go. You'll have to save a few more bucks for the tires, but the end cap and filter will get you some extra power untill then. By the time you done having fun spinning dounuts with the extra power, you'll have saved up enough money to get the tires and put that power to the ground.

Why is the 30 degree down angle important? Is there a difference between a 30-degree down angle VS. a 15 degree down angle. I understand the 15-degree down angle will sound blast the guy right behind me, oops sorry, but will it effect the engine's performance?

The 30degree angle is 97% for noise, so it directed level with the ground and not up into the air [and peoples ears], but it also makes the end slightly less likely to catch water when washing or caught in the rain.
The power kit comes with a filter that goes in the box. If you switch to a filter right off the carb, you will gain an average 3HP at the rear wheels. Dyno tested and proven.
After the end cap, I would save some more money to get an ignition box. They run about $300. I dynoed a bike with an ignition box, filter on the carb, and an end cap, at over 50 HP! Stock is between 39-41HP. I admitt that was an extaordinary bike, but it happened.
