Went to ride this weekend. I have 20x10x10 10paddle haulers. I was beat by everything on the dunes this weekend. I couldn't get any traction. On the 300ft. drag I was still spinning out to 250 feet by then the race was way over. Any sugguestion. I would like to get 22x11x9 10paddle extreme haulers. Does skat-trak make them. Does anyone make a 8 inch rim to fit the hube on the Ds? Please help!!!

Go with 22X11X10 8 paddle Extreme Haulers you will get better starts. You will pick up top end speed with the 8's.

Unless your motor is built 10 paddles is to much. Go with the 8 paddles as suggested. jmo

Will the 10 inch rim give me enough side wall for the balloon look? Heard that you need more side wall for floatation on the sand. I have more mods on the way should I go for the 10 paddle. Port work carb and cams on order. Will I have clearence problems with the 22 inch tire rubbing my heel gaurds? Is there a special way to mount the tires to align the paddles? Would I be happier with a 9 or even an 8 inch rim if someone makes them?

i agree it was the 10 paddles that got you not the tire size and the 22 will clear with no problem. I run 23"tall magnum itps best all around sand drag tire .And yes you can buy a axel assy that will let you run 8" rims and triple shaved paddles. Cost for the whole package is aprox.1500$ but is well worth it its a titanium axle assy!! GOOD LUCK!!

Uglyman:

Where did you get yours?

I think I will order the same thing and use the rims from my old SandSharks that are sitting around in the garage.

I think the 9 paddles are a good way to go. Someone else was running those at DS Days (can't remember who??)

I think as the summer sand gets a little wetter, the 20's will work a bit better. I really notice the Sand at Sand Mt. is very light and dry right now. I am definitely slowed down from how I usually run.

BIGds650rider,

Most of the guys in here that drag race say to start out in second gear, not first. In addition to taller tires, that should help you a lot, if you weren't already doing that.

BIGds650rider,

Make sure you are not mistaken a slipping clutch for spinning tires. If all you have on your DS is an ALBA pipe and CDI, A 10 paddle haller should be more than enough.
