If this is in fact true, then I can easily believe the rod threw! I've thrown one on a mild 686 and I have since seen 2 of my buddies throw them with just bumping up the compression and using a small aftermarket cam.

I wouldn't think SamCoe would be using stock Rap rods, atleast I hope they aren't!

 

is the lower rod bearing on a raptor a needle bearing? a DS isn't how would it work?


did you happen to have nitro in it? i know when that stuff pops its LOUD!

i am pretty sure it is the yamaha 600 rod that was in their grizzleys before they put the raptor motor in it.

 

Well, if that 600 rod is anything like the 660 rod, STAY THE F AWAY FROM IT!

AZ, Man sorry to hear that, But look at it this way, you have been trying to blow it for months and it took adding a Yamaha part to do it. So what will be your next big thing?

 

Well guys the sam coe is a potent kit when we frist got the kit jeff was worried about the cycl. thickness but i was
worried about the rod and i know for sure it blew it let go at the top!! i stll think sam coe has a good kit minus the rod if you do the kit and intend to race buy a carrillo rod !! and belive it or not i was taking it easy!!!!! i loved this engine and i did not want it to go.


BUT now for the good stuff: And i don't even want to hear it from the rappy boys but the closest rappy to me was half a track behind me

there was no way i could run this version like i have always run before if you dared let her go she would straight flip over

And smitty911 your light was a total hit every one loved it they now call me az sand at the dunes too!!! send me some cards or brouchers and i will give them out
