http://www.rotax.net/ has all the parts you need for dual carbs. You will have too cut some one the cross member that the top of the engine bolts to away. On the gas gague no Idea sorry.

While we're on the subject of dual carbs, I was wondering if you guys think it would be worth it for me to go that route with the listed mods and possibly a cam kit and Hi-Comp piston in the future and also can you get the twist throttle for dual crabs? Thanks

Yes some cutting and drilling to the top cross member above the carb is nessary to install the FCR's, I also had piece of 1/4" strap welded to the top of that cross member for reinforcment. you will also need to modifiy the top motor mount (from three tab to four tab), click the pics link in my sig and check out the album DS650 build, there are photo's of how we did it on my machine, also some pics of how well the Ron Woods pipe will clear the carbs in there too, I have heard that the Trinnity pipe will clear too but may be closer. I think that you need some significant porting and race cams at the least for this mod to preform properly (big valves are the best)
These carbs can be set up with a side pull cable too (not from Ron Woods) majorecho has this setup and hopefully he'll check in, this requires different mods from the center pull.
The only problem with these carbs is if you ride above about 6000' then the pilot jet must be changed, the carb bowls must be removed to get to it and the pipe prevents the bowls from being removed so the carbs must be pulled to change the pilot, that's why I'm going to the lectron's, but as long as you stay below 6000' or so you'll only have to change the main jet, easy to get to through the bowl plug. one other thing I don't like about these carbs is that the air screw's are only accessible with the air filter's off, any thing else....just ask
The cable Woods sells for the FCR's is for a twist throttle, this set up is pretty stiff, you wouldn't want a thumb throttle unless you were only doing short drags

cOoLdevil i love the carb BUT Edelbrock is not going to produce it due too the lake of demand for it. It is very easy too adjust for alt. It makes power all the way to stock rev-limiter. The carb pull through the gears faster. It has more mid range and a little more top end than the stock carb.
DSjockey I have been thinking about a dual 36 or 34 Edelbrock for my DS. The thing I like about the Edelbrock is all the adjustments are done from the outside of the carb.

wow dsjockey the duel carbs look good, one question how fussy are they to dune ride or trail ride? can you still jump hard or do they flutter on hard landings? is the fuel comsumption a great deal more. have you run against a 760 pami with single carb, how much increase in power over single? sorry for all the questions but i've got a 760 pami being built as we speak want to make sure and have the right set-up!!

I have run against a 760 w/45 and 48 single....... the 760 w the dual 39's still comes out on top..hands down!
I am curious on the dual mikunis though..... that pami offers, they are cheaper and also come in a few sizes.
From what I hear the modifications needed to install are minor, plus they are easier to tune

Jeff, Could you throw up spme more info on the Mikuni's? I am curious as to the size and price. I saw on Ebay one time that someone had some dual mikusi's for sale and it had a intake to fit the DS. I think they were 33mm which I think is the stock ones for a Rappy.
