I. OPEN = [INTAKE DURATION /2]-LOBE CENTER+ADVANCE
I. CLOSE = [INTAKE DURATION /2]+LOBE CENTER-180-ADVANCE
E. OPEN = [EXHAUST DURATION /2]+LOBE CENTER-180+ADVANCE
E. CLOSE = [EXHAUST DURATION /2]-LOBE CENTER-ADVANCE

DYNAMIC COMPRESSION:
% OF STATIC = 0.5+0.5*COS[I.CLOSE IN RADS]
DEGREES IN RADS = I.CLOSE*[PI/180]
D.COMPRESSION = STATIC COMPRESSION* % OF STATIC

CRANKING PRESSURE:
CRANKING PRESSURE = ATMOSPHERE PRESSURE * [DYNAMIC COMPRESSION - 1 - CYLINDER LEAKDOWN]
CYLINDER LEAKDOWN = DYNAMIC COMPRESSION * LEAKDOWN %

Default Not good at all!!!

UPDATE: Well i got my head and jug off today and was all lil surprised at what i have found. I think the jug is ok but there are some scratches in it but i dont think they are through the Nycasil. I think with a new set of rings and a resurfacing the jug I will be ok. The part that suprised me was that I had marks on my piston from where my valves were hitting it. Keep in mind this is the flat stock piston. What could cause the valves to hit this piston? I couldnt see any damage to the valves themselves, not even a mark.

Now for the part that has me in a panic. When I was taking my piston off I romoved the clip that holds the wrist pin and my needle nose pliers twisted on me and flung the clip streight into the motor. I cannot see it anywhere in the motor and i am possitive it is in there. any ideas on how to get that sucker out of there without splitting the case? I though about putting the quad up on some tall blocks and crawling under the quad and spray in a crapload of parts cleaner and hope it washs doun to the drain plug hole then reach in and grab it with a better pair of needle noses.

What do you guys think?

Demon, can you get something magnetic in there and fish around for the clip??? Just a thought. Good luck with all of this.

I think you are SOL.

No, is it magnetic? It might be worth a try, to tie a string onto a little magnet and go fishing. The parts cleaner thing is a good idea too, you could also trying to flush it with desil fuel with the drain plug out and a screen under it. It would be cheaper than parts spray.

edit: I type too slow.

Demon,
I could understand the valve's just touching the piston...with stock valve springs..and with no rev limiter(+NOS)....well you know.....
You should have some body lap the valves,to make sure they are OK.
And good luck on the clip.....can't help ya there..I always stuff rags around the rod & case.I don't know how many times those clips have sprouted wings on me!

Jeff

Flip it upside down......?
