im getting a 15 tooth sprocket. Do i have to get new chain?
I got my 15/42 on last night with the stock chain. I have heard that the 43 won't fit with the stock chain. If it does you may want to check the length of the chain. If it has stretched too much it may need replacing (don't have the spec.s handy)
The rear hub is a 36mm socket. Took a 16" ratchet with about a 16" helper to pop that thing loose. You will need to remove the rear hub to get the rear sprocket on. Not too hard once you break the nut.
You are correct, the 23" tires with 14/40 is real close in gearing to the 15/42 with 22" tires. I hear the smaller sprocket up front us harder on the chain???
