Does one of these CDI's actually increase the HP of the Bomb when installed or just the RPM Limit ????

it might help have a better HP curve. i think that it keeps more timing in the motor for more RPMS.

 

hopefully it gives the bike some more noticeable power , those things are very expensive , especially given the exchange rate to NZ $ .

not to sure if this goes with this topic but anyways, when i talk to the gary at tvi yesterday (11-20) they had told me that they were working on a new cdi with help for msd ignitions that should be out next month sometime, he told me that it will be interchangeable rev limiters so that you can change it out with any upgrades that you do later, it also has some kind of smart launch or something like that, and it has more power than the stock one, the stock cdi puts out 11 somethings and the one form msd will have 42 of whatever it is, so that your bike doesnt run out of ignition. you might call them up and ask about if its something you thinking about,

 

Some body please find out about that MSD Ignition......................I would like to about the adjustments, price-range, & release time.

 

when i put my cdi on i had my main jet at stock 165 and the clip at 3rd from top with full exaust and direct carb filter and was pulling about 8rpm. now that i jetted to a 175 with clip on 2nd from bottom i only pull 7rpm. i know its alittle off topic but what do i need to do to get that extra 1rpm back to 8? i ride at glamis.

if you want to call tvi the number is 503-648-1254, ask for gary, he had said that the cdi would be around 400 bucks, im not sure on a release date but he had said that it would be ready next month

 

i've had both the rwr and the graydon cdi. graydon told me that there box had all kinds of timing improvments and more ect. so when i traded my old ds for a new one i let it go with rwr cdi,installed graydon on new machine, no improvments in any area ran the same (seat of the pants riding) so i think the rwr is less $$$ they install the same,save you'r money buy the rwr box. the msd compatable unit sounds interesting!!

 

I cant wait for this spring, I get my FIRST cdi, then I might understand what all the whoopla is about CDl's.
