When my fan comes on it sounds sick.......like it might be going out...any ideas on what this is? Or if its a sign of the fan going out? Thanks.

 

Your prolly right that it is going out. Im on my third one now. All mine where do to at least one of the brushes having a broken wire. Tried resoldering the wire to brushes, but they don't last long. I now am using rubber shims where the fan mounts to the frame. So far my fan is still working. (Nock on wood)

 

I will be installing an automotive type fan that runs on a toggle switch

 

If and when my fan goes out I think I am going to get some radiator shrouds and run fanless.... Some other people suggested to do the same and it would be cheaper.

 

i to am running fanless, i went with the in line water cooler, radiator shrouds, and i also use engine ice, i havnt had any problems with this setup, but i have only ran it for about 3 months, about 20 hours or so at little sahara,

I was riding yesterday and quess what my fan went out for the fourth time. Is there some type of action we can take to force Bombardier into fixing them or doing a recall. This sucks. every few trips I make my bike ends up back in the shop. I got the radiator shrouds and I will be getting the engine wetter after I get it fixed. what mixture will I need to use to put it in my bike?

 

i dont know about water wetter but engine ice is pre-mixed its ready to use right out of the bottle, but i think its might cost more they water wetter

 

Another product from Royal Purple. Its called Purple Ice. On my 383 Vortec on alky in my IMCA modified the car will not warm up unless its ran hard. This stuff is like putting your motor in a square blck of water and freezing it!!! I havent tried it in the DS on the count of I run clear lines and Purple wont look good on orange!! So when i get the chance I will start runnign purple ICE. So will the Radiator Guards and in line cooler along with the purple ice make my bike run cool. What about like 3 in line coolers?
