Default ok...get some $..help me spend it! LOL

ok guys...i finally got some cash saved up...now what do i spend it on. i need some advice..i need more power and im on a budget. i am having my motor rebuilt on my bike..i dont know what its gonna cost me i imagine its just gonna be a few hundred bucks...my guess is under 500$ i dont know never done this before...timing chain came off and now i have to have that put back on ....maybe have new pistons and rings, and maybe have the cylanders honed or bored slightly because of wear on them *its a 1993 model* now...what do i do to get more power out of it..i dont want more top speed..i ride tight trails dont need it to go any faster than 60mph. BUT what i do need/want is faster excelleration and faster throttle responce. will a pipe, jet kit, and air box mods do the trick? or what do i need to do? what does putting a different cam in it do? some of this stuff im still new on so all you experts out there give me ya advice! im lookin to race my 300EX in hare scrambles so what do i do there? change sprocket to give it more umph? or what? info please! thanks!

a cam and piston will do the most for you. just remember with the cam to not go with an mx grind cam because that won't be good for low end power. a pipe won't be a bad idea either. however, you will want to play with the jetting no matter what engine mod you do.
