Direct Drive Clutch lockout!!!!
#12
I am bringing this back to the top.
I also had a conversation today with Direct Drive. The gentleman that I talked with was vry informative of this clutch system. From what I was told today, If we were able to get them to do a clutch for the DS, we would greatly benefit from it.
The clutch system can be "tuned" according to Direct Drive, in the since that we could use light clutch springs with heavy weights. How this would work (I think) is that with more RPM's that you have, the more the mechanical arms engaging the clutch would press against the clutch plates. This being said, This would eliminate clutch slippage. All of this with light, stock clutch springs.
If I am wrong, I hope that they (Direct Drive) will come in here and correct me. But from what I was told, in my opinion, this is going to be a must have for the DS owners.
What made me think of this is when I was at 4stroke wars, Banshee chick had this system on her Banshee. And I remembered that Bigger had posted this a while back. So lets let them know what we think!

I bought one for my Banshee through Direct Drive and WOW!! Nice system. So effective you can run it with ONLY THREE SPRINGS INSTALLED. Talk about a light feel on the clutch. Can`t wait to put one on my wifes DS.

Hey dsmike,
I would like to learn more about that override tranny of yours. I think that with this clutch and a good tranny, putting the power to the ground is what it is all about.
If you want, PM me or e-mail me direct.

Has anyone talked with them lately?
I would still be interested in one, myself!
Last time I talked with them, they were still thinking if it was going to be worth it, money wise, to do it.
Lets get IronRod on these guys!

here's another company that makes a lockout for the banshee: http://www.mpracing.net/Products.htm
I've sent a few e-mails in the past to directdrive and never got any response.
