Default Building Motor

I have gotten all my parts in today, and will be putting them in this weekend hopfully, is there any last minute help that you can give me before i dig into it, i will be installing a new piston (12.5 to 1 compression), new cams (webs 109 grind), valve springs, under bucket shims and clutch springs, any help will be nice, this is the first time i have gotten inside of a atv motor, i do have some knowlegde about truck motors and i believe i can do this without much troubles,

don't reuse the flanged nuts for the head. use assembly lube on all moving parts.

check all your torques if you don't have them i have a manual and can let you know

If Sandman isn't available, I have a manual too.

I hear the new head bolts are key. Glad to hear you got those.

thanks for the help, to get to top dead center the shop manual really doesnt say or show how to get it there, when i pull the valve cover use the front sprocket to rotate the motor over till i get tdc?? then install the bolt that holds the crank in place so that it doesnt move?? is this correct

i have the shop manual so i should be ok on the torques specs,

actually to rotate the motor, use an allen wrench through the little cap thats on the magneto cover. I think it is a 6mm allen wrench.

i used a smaller allen wrench as i rotated the engine to find top dead center, it will slide into the crank. the only other thing that was of interest was the intake manifold, the middle top screw takes a round end allen to remove. I don't remember what all you are going to do but have the intake and head matched up, mine was awful. good luck

i was going good till i got to the valve train, i dont have the right spring compressor to get them out, hopfully someone at work will have some that will, or ill have to take it somewhere to get it done
