Default how usefull is the K&N filter and jet kit?

Just want to know how much of an improvement is the filter and jet kit. what does it improve as far as speed, hp, throttle response, etc. One problem I feel that I have is that my throttle response isn't to great, what can improve this? I currently have a pro-circuit slipon. should i install the filter and jets? And how hard is it to install the jet kit? Thanks

Get them - they're well worth it. Filter flows much more air, and is cleanable and re-usable so it'll last. the jet kit is where you will see the great improvement in throttle response - the jet needle included in this kit will smooth out all the issues you currently don't like, and is the key component that costs the pretty penny.
You'll need to remove the carb the first time you remove the bowl to change the main jet - so you can clamp vise grips on the bowl screws to break them loose for the first time, because they have loc-tite on them. Don't even try to remove them with a screwdriver until you first break them loose with vise grips. After that, future jet changes can be done without removing the carb. Needle is changed by removing top cover over slide - again break screws loose with vise grips.

You have a slip on and havent re-jetted? You are probably running lean, bad. You need to get jets for sure, it will help a lot. I got the stock replacement K&N then got the direct carb mount later. The carb mount has a much better improvment in throttle response. Hope this helps some.
