How do you remove the pin. So i can swap the decompression assembly over to my new cam. It almost looks like you just drive it out one side or the other. But the pin has a lip around it on both side to hold it from falling out of either side. So you really can't drive it through without messing up the diameter of the hole can you?
Hope my rambling makes sense. Thanks

Drive it out, gently, with a pin punch. It will come right out. Be aware that it is very easy to break cast iron so be nice. I took mine out two years ago and it still sits in my spare parts box. Some have said on this forum that you souldn't remove it because the bike won't start or the starter won't turn it over. That may be true for some, but here in So. Cal. I've never had a starting problem. If you do leave it off, just don't give it throttle when you start it, and it will fire right up.

Thank you very much Ken. That looked to be the only way to me to do it. But I thought I had better ask first. Thanks again.

Hey larry just PM me you know I have that stuff down Pat. Yeah just use a punch, stick the cam in your vise and tap it thru. Make sure you get it flush when you re-install it though. Also it might feel a bit sticky but don't worry it will loosen up real fast. How about those pics bro? Talk to you Later.

Right on Tony, Thanks. I was wondering why it was so tight. I was going to not use it because of that. I'll put it back in the cam and give it a go. When I took my stock cams back over to Web Cam today, I just had them remove it for me. But like a dummy I didn't think to take the new cams back so they could reinstall it. Oh well, I know what to do now.
I'll send the pics over in just a little bit.

I wouldn't even put it in the new cams. We are pretty sure that is what caused my valve failure at FSW. The decompressor was stuck and burnt my valve. We didn't put it back and I have ZERO starting problems. Also Roostinonyou has had problems with his, and has recently taken it out.

I am running stock everything, but with my headwork, I am running over 200 PSI cylinder pressure. I am not sure what that equates to in Ratio, but stock is around 165 psi.

I think 12:1 ratio is around 230 psi.
